The Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) was established in 1996. VACCHO is the peak Aboriginal health body representing 100% of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCOs) in Victoria. The role of VACCHO is to build the capacity of its Membership and to advocate for issues on their behalf.
The Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS) was established in 1973 to address the specific medical needs of Victorian indigenous communities. The organisation has expanded steadily over past 40 years to provide a comprehensive range of medical, dental and social services for our community.
